andrew, once again you have an eye for detail. yes those are semi truck rims. i took 11:00 x 20:00 truck tires, cut the centres out, didn't even remove the tires, just used the garden hose (i don't even have a garden??????) then take the dually rimms from a 1953 chevy and weld them in the rim. just measure the crap out of it to find centre. top speed on monster truck is 40 miles an hour, tire shimmy is the least of your problems at that speed. LOL

the next problem i had was the 1953 chevy rim has a smaller centre so what to do. i have no lathe (nearest one is 300 km away at $100 per hour) i used my grinder and placed a disc that was a bit larger then what i needed. as the grinder held flat to the rim the old blade is eaten away and next thing you know it is thru and the hole is about the right size. it is very important because all the weight and shock from jumping on to cars is on the hubs not the lug nuts. i took my time and got it right on all 4 rims.

the inside, nothing fancy because no one sees it.

the IH frame drops down quite a bit so for the cab to clear we went with this h beam that was in a garage fire. so that is way it is a little short. i used what i had.

the reason for the second frame is also for stregth. in the 1970s they had these big holes in the frame so it would collaspe when in an accident. but we don't want that. LOL

see how high the transfer case is, this is what makes the IH product the best for ground clearance.

note the suspenion is all origan, so the drive shaft angle and everything is the same. everyone who jacks up truck have drive shaft problems for some reason. but i left it all factory and don't have a problem, well maybe, LOL

this is my problem is the snow plow for opening winter oads when the ice is bad. the monster truck will push a 43" wind row on 6" of ice. the snow and weight of the truck some time out weigh what the ice will allow. so it breaks thru, no problem. the front rearend wants to twist and off goes the drive shaft. i have picked it a couple time about 100 feet to the side of monster truck. so to keep the drive shaft on, the front rearend is chained in solid so no movment. then the drive shaft will stay on.
thansk
